Recently, we turbocharged our CDN, and our latest focus is enhancing your StreamSpot Analytics. Until now, our analytics reporting gave you the ability to understand the "when," "where," and "how" of your viewers. The user's agent was tracked to provide you with accurate device information, as well as their IP address to provide location data, to allow our reports to give details on when a viewer starts watching your broadcast and how long they stayed, but we're excited to announce that we're taking our metrics reporting far beyond the basics. It's information that is important to our customers to dig deeper to gauge what kind of audience they are attracting online. Here are a few of the new features we're rolling out in the upcoming weeks:
The metrics are all about focusing on the "who." We've re-engineered our analytics to capture user sessions. With this new power, We now know when users come back and who is a unique user. In the future, we will build on top of this feature. Monitoring sessions opens the door for us to be able to take this data and attach identity, at the user's discretion, to it. There will be more to come on identity in the future.
Better Analytics Dashboard
Our dashboard is meant to be useful and straightforward. It now shows you information about where your viewers are and a table that gives you insight into this data. With our new dashboard, we are going to provide you with insight on trends and patterns in your data. Some new questions we will answer for you:
- Which device was used the most to view?
- What is the breakdown of percentages of devices?
- How many unique viewers?
- What is the breakdown of new vs. returning viewers?
Automatically Send Metrics when a broadcast if over
We've noticed that a lot of you were requesting analytics after immediately following your broadcast, and we're making this information easier for you to obtain the information you need quicker. We're finalizing an auto-delivery of metrics reports to you via email, so your data is awaiting your review as soon as the live broadcast is complete.
