Streaming Bundles... Who'da thunk it?

Posted by Brian Duerring on Apr 5, 2017 5:05:19 PM

Who would want a "Streaming Bundle?"

When StreamSpot opened its doors in 2010, we knew that our streaming solutions had to be turn-key.  If customers were forced to research, purchase and configure individual pieces of equipment for their streaming solutions,  they wouldn't do it (or wouldn't WANT to do it :). Starting with our very first customer, we offered everything needed to produce high-quality live broadcasts in one convenient package.

While our turn-key bundles have evolved through the years, the concept remains the same.  Provide a high quality encoder (the device that processes the audio and video signals and sends them to your streaming provider), reliable cameras and capture devices... Pre-configure the equipment to each customer's account and ship it to each customer.  All StreamSpot equipment bundles ship with easy-to-follow setup instructions and our support team works with each customer remotely.  In the rare event that an installation is too challenging, StreamSpot has partnered with integrators across the country that can come onsite and install everything for you... Now that's simple!

What causes those pesky "freezes" during a live stream?

Posted by Brian Duerring on Jan 30, 2017 12:32:26 PM

There are only a few words that have been banned from the StreamSpot offices.  The most notorious of them are "buffering" and "freezing". Nothing puts a damper on a live stream quite like a picture-perfect broadcast, only to be interrupted by a few-seconds of a frozen screen.

"Why Should I Live Stream?" A Biblical Perspective

Posted by Ryan Campbell on Nov 14, 2016 12:26:14 PM

As Operations Manager at StreamSpot, the number one question I hear from houses of worship is a fairly basic one: “Why should I stream?” It’s a question that all streaming providers in the industry are asked, and from a technology standpoint, we all mostly answer it in a similar way: in addition to discussing the ability to stream in today’s world, we speak about reaching out to those who cannot make it to services, due to difficulty or distance: those who are sick, homebound, traveling, and cannot make it to services. These are all great reasons, but I recently felt compelled to look deeper as to the “why,” not only why from a practicality standpoint, but from a biblical one. I reflected on the underlying question, “what does the Bible say about live streaming?”

StreamSpot: A Product Truly Built By You

Posted by Ryan Campbell on Jul 7, 2016 11:58:33 AM
As the Client Services Coordinator here at StreamSpot, I bridge relationships between our valued customers and the StreamSpot development and technical teams. My goal is to represent you and convey your needs to the team. At StreamSpot, user feedback is viewed as more than just a gauge of satisfaction with the product; many of the features and integrations you see when you log into the MyStreamSpot portal have been created and refined based on our individual conversations with each one of you. Many can attest to making a recommendation or asking for a feature, and it being built and implemented shortly thereafter. At times, I don't personally know exactly what is entailed in developing a new tool or feature, but I do know whenever it's requested, it almost always becomes reality, regardless of the time and intricacy of the project,  and I cannot praise our team of engineers and developers enough for their dedication and relentless work ethic.

This type of synergy between customer and company will never be more relevant than the coming months as we roll out some of the most exciting products and integrations since the founding of StreamSpot. This is already beginning with the new analytics we featured on the StreamSpot Insider show, which many of you are already trying and giving us even more feedback. In the coming weeks, our Facebook Live integration will be getting a huge overhaul. Many of you have used this integration and asked for a number of features and improvements, and we feel you will be pleased with the next version of our integration. It is on par not only among the best streaming providers, but also any app or website integration on the market. I am very proud of what our team has developed and cannot wait to share it with you all on the next episode of StreamSpot Insider.

It is an exciting time here at StreamSpot and we cannot wait to share what are working on with you. Our ears are to the ground for what is coming up, and I encourage you to continue to explore our features and integrations and let us know what you want next. Use our Broadcaster Community to link up with other broadcasters. Together, we are building the best streaming experience available.

Sneak Peek at Upcoming StreamSpot Analytics Upgrades

Posted by Taron Foxworth on Jun 10, 2016 12:47:26 PM

Behind the scenes, StreamSpot developers have been working to make your user experience with us even better. Recently, we turbocharged our CDN, and our latest focus is enhancing your StreamSpot Analytics. Until now, our analytics reporting gave you the ability to understand the "when," "where," and "how" of your viewers. The user's agent was tracked to provide you with accurate device information, as well as their IP address to provide location data, to allow our reports to give details on when a viewer starts watching your broadcast and how long they stayed, but we're excited to announce that we're taking our metrics reporting far beyond the basics. It's information that is important to our customers to dig deeper to gauge what kind of audience they are attracting online. Here are a few of the new features we're rolling out in the upcoming weeks:
